We have the hardest semester yet looking us square in the face ...
Monday: co-op 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Five hours of class time with a 30-minute lunch. I'm teaching two hours - a "book club" discussion group for ages 9-12, and a kindergarten level reading group class for 4 and 5 year olds.
Tuesday:
1. 10 am to noon - theater class, with a 30-minute drive on each end. This is for Sunny, Posy and Birdie. The library and a small children's museum are next door, so I'll head over there with Magnolia and Azalea.
2. Afternoon - 30-minutes each of solo time with Mom to take care of math and language (spelling and writing this term). The two little girls will have reading and writing time then.
3. 6:15-7:00 pm - Posy's ballet class
Wednesday:
1. art and history at home in the morning.
2. Noon - 2 hours of therapy, one hour each for Sunny and Posy. Since we're all tagging along, that's when I'll do the 30-minutes of Mom time to take care of math and language.
3. 2:00 for at least an hour - the library. I'm working with one of the librarians to come up with some kind of volunteer project that we can do every week. I have no idea what it will entail but it could be anything from shelving books to book repair to making some kind of wall/book display. I really don't know yet.
4. 4:30 to 5:15 - Sunny's dance class.
5. 6:30 to 8:00 - church twice a month for Sunny and Posy, and I'm one of the youth leaders.
Thursday: Aaaaahhhhh ... finally the at-home days. School in the morning will be "table time" for art and history as a group. Then everyone's 30-minute Mom time ... and that right there will take 3 hours. Science in the afternoon. Birdie and Magnolia have their dance class at 6:15 that night.
Friday: Art and history, everyone's 30 minutes for math and language. Maybe science, maybe we'll just call it a week at that point. That remains to be seen.
We still need to add: French online for Sunny, piano for Posy and Birdie (taught by me at this point), and some scheduled daily down time for Mom. I have sewing projects! When am I going to do my sewing projects?!?!
Targets for September to December:
1. Finish the 1000 Book Challenge with Birdie, Magnolia and Azalea - we're right at 700. Five books every week day for 25 a week is totally doable.
2. Sunny learns the multiplication tables.
3. Get to chapter 20 in Story of the World book 2.
4. Another 20 spelling lists for each of the girls.
5. Read all of Life of Fred book C with Posy and Birdie.
6. Four more field trips to hit 24 for our average of 2 per month.
