The Springfield Museums complex has 2 art museums, a science museum, the public library, a history museum across the street, and a courtyard with the Dr. Seuss statues. We LOVED the Seuss statues! So cool. We ate our lunch outside while the girls went around and around and around the statues. All hail the Great Doctor! He is far and away our favorite children's author.
The "book" behind Posy had the entire text of "Oh, The Places You'll Go!"
We went through the science museum, the children's room at one of the art museums, and the children's imagination room at the local history museum. We made boats out of tinfoil and had a competition to see who could get the most pennies on their boat before it sank. We saw a movie about dinosaurs in the little planetarium. The girls played in a small wigwam in a Native American exhibit. At the art museum, the girls played with paper dolls and made gel paintings of dinosaurs. (What's with all the dinosaur stuff everywhere? It was totally unrelated to anything else at the art museum.) It was a good day!
