the yarn pom-pom craze

One thing I don't like about homeschooling is my increasing tendency to call everything "a curriculum." And I mean everything. Like a recent series of videos on one of the sewing blogs I read regularly - "oh look! We could use that as a fun art curriculum!" AAAHHHHH! No. Stop. This is just a fun series of short videos (that my 4-year-old likes to watch for fun) to learn simple sewing projects, and they're easy enough that the girls can do them too!

Like yarn pom-poms.

The videos are on the MADE blog by Dana Willard, and we LOVE her blog. This is actually the blog that got me to start sewing in the first place about 5 years ago. She just posted a video on how to make yarn pom-poms. The day after watching it, the girls hit my yarn stash and now there are yarn bits everywhere around our school table. We have some high wall shelves in our school area and they're now lined from one end to the other with yarn pom-poms. Art!
