FT 17: Staten Island ferry and National Museum of the American Indian

Grandma and Grandpa have finished their church assignment in New York, so we went down for one final visit. We went into Manhattan to check things out down at the south end.

We started with the George Washington statue in front of Federal Hall. It's where the national capitol was located before Washington DC was built. It's on a very narrow street, tucked in among the skyscrapers.

Just a couple of blocks away is the Wall Street bull, which is always completely surrounded by tourists. Including this group of this tourists.

We don't feel our kids are ready for the full visit to Liberty Island and Ellis Island, so we settled for a ride on the Staten Island Ferry and back to catch a view of the iconic landmark.

When we were headed to the ferry from the subway, we had no idea we were going to come across the New York building of the National Museum of the American Indian. Obviously we needed a break from all our walking around, so after a nap on the stairs, we went inside where they didn't allow photography.

And in the middle of it all, on a random street corner, our children discovered phone booths. They had no idea that they were even phones at first.
