Once upon a time, I crawled into the tall grass where two giant cedar trees were backed up against a small slope. My brother and I stomped the grass down under the trees - between the low branches and the hill, we were tucked away from the world. The summer warmth made it cozy as I reclined against the hill with my books. I stayed there for hours reading. My dad took us to the library often to restock on new reading material.
Now that I’m the parent, I take my own children to the library all the time and come home hauling as many books as we can carry. Their favorite store is Barnes & Noble. Our library house has a reading room and bookcases in every room. We read read read, and we write write write too! Stories are amazing! Our favorites are “true books” about real people, places, and events.
