The main thing AC and I learned is that we need to plan our field trips better - just showing up at a location isn't going to cut it. Sunny and Posy blitz through everything and could have polished off everything inside of 30 minutes. Since it cost us 80 bucks to get in the door, we weren't leaving that soon. They needed to slow WAY down so AC and I need to be more proactive with getting them to read signs, do the activities at the exhibits, and come up with our own games and trivia questions for the location.
frogs!
the penguin feeding time
They have a new parakeet house and you can feed them. Sunny wouldn't do it herself but she got pretty close to watch Grandma with the birds.
the seahorse exhibit
rescuing Dad from the oyster eating him
family portrait at the play area, where we learned some pretty cheezy jokes. How much does it cost for a pirate to get his piercings? A buck-an-ear! Har har!

I have pictures in some of those same places...the frog, the shark's mouth, etc. We noticed the same thing about the kids' interest levels at the Charleston aquarium. It was only $30 to get in -- the two littlest kids were free -- but we were still done in just over an hour and a half, and that included a stint in the gift shop and a play break in the toddler area. Good luck!
