Talkers, Watchers, Doers

by Cheri Fuller

I finished this book just a couple of days before Christmas. I was reading to get a general idea of learning styles and how to meet the various needs.

Talkers = people who learn best by hearing the information. Watchers = people who learn best by reading. Doers = people who learn best with projects to apply the information, or who are physically active when they're listening to other people talk; the wigglers. The book offers suggestions on how to work with each type of learning in educational situations. I haven't tried anything specific from the book, but it gave me some ideas to consider.

I'm definitely a watcher - I don't remember a darn thing unless I write it down and see it. Sunny is definitely a combination of all three types - she remembers things she reads or hears only once or twice, she talks a lot, and she can't be still when she's told to park her rear on a chair. She absolutely will not be pigeon-holed in any way. Lucky me. The others - it's too soon to tell, but they all love reading together.
