Yesterday, AC made candied ginger for a dessert and used the syrup with club soda to also make ginger ale. He asked Sunny if she wanted to try it but she turned up her nose. He reminded her that Almanzo's mother made ginger water for him in the book Farmer Boy, and he liked it.
Sunny's response: "No, it was Carrie bringing it to Laura and Pa in The Long Winter chapter one, Make Hay While the Sun Shines."
Oh. Well. Excuuuuse me for getting the book and chapter wrong. This is why I feel no need at all to check her reading comprehension on anything. If she doesn't understand something, she asks. She remembers, and quotes often, random things from random books and can include the citation of which book and chapter it came from.
But that was the boost she needed to get her to try the homemade ginger ale. And she liked it.
