Civics 101 - voting

Happy Election Day!

Did you vote today? Did you take your kids with you to watch you vote? I took Sunny during AC's lunch hour. AC is taking Posy this evening.

And just for fun, to throw this out there - I believe that not voting by choosing to abstain is entirely legitimate. The last two Presidential elections (today and 4 years ago), I've strongly considered leaving the Presidential section of my ballot blank because I don't like any of the major candidates or believe that the "third party" options are especially valid. If you don't vote, at least don't vote as a deliberate choice. Don't be lazy about it.

agreed agreed and more agreed. And yes, my kids came with me when I voted. And they both had elections in class. Ironically they both voted for different people. Last night they kept asking who they should vote for and I refused. So we built a very simple, very basic, overview of what the two men did well and then didn't do so well. Then we listed the "highlight" reel if you will, of their platforms. And we left it to them.

So interesting to see what they choose later on.

Love it.

I voted. My kids got to vote at school. And I agree about leaving the president section blank. I was so close to doing this.

I left several blank. I just had to reconfirm before I submitted my ballot.
