1st quarter

10 weeks down, 30 to go.

We had a rough go in January with getting back into the routine of school. It was our own version of what the public schools go through every September when the year starts - the kids are still in playtime mode and have no interest in sitting down to do any work. We had taken 6 weeks off in November/December, and had a rough time getting going again.

Then the entire family got sick the last week of January. All 7 of us, down flat. Three different families brought us dinners, and a friend from our church cleared our driveway after a snowstorm in the middle of it. That's the first time that has ever happened, and I hope it never happens again. We took the first week of February off school just to recover and do laundry.

Since then, we've been on an upward trajectory, which quite frankly surprises me but I'm definitely pleased with it! We're reading a lot of history, knocking out the grammar worksheets, practicing handwriting, and even getting through a little bit of math. We've started the spring session of co-op, which is totally the highlight of the week. Joy School continues for Birdie and Magnolia. Posy is still in speech therapy. Sunny, Posy, and Birdie enjoy their dance classes. And Azalea is along for the ride.

We're not stopping at 10 weeks for a break. We're going to keep going until something needs to shift. Now is not that time.
