FT 8: the Ecotarium

We spent Earth Day today up in Massachusetts at the Ecotarium. It was crowded because it's spring break up there, but we figured it out. We went with two other families from our co-op, so the girls had friends to hang out with.

We were inside with the exhibits for awhile, and saw all the science-y things, and played with Keva planks. It's like Jengo blocks except thinner - they're quite The Thing.

Then, we went outside. We've only been there once before, in the winter, so we had no idea there was this whole outdoor play area for kids to dig in the sand, play in the little creek, and just be outside. It was awesome! The only drawback was that I ran out of snacks!

Because it was Earth Day,  the bonus was that there was a guy playing his guitar and singing kid songs all afternoon. When a whole gang of kids joined him on the stage (my girls were leading the dance troupe), he sat on the edge and sang Old MacDonald Had a Farm over and over and over, inserting all the kids' names and having them choose the animals. Too cute.
