We started slipping a bit with attitudes and follow-through in February, and we missed some days. But we slogged it through the 9 weeks and made it! We finished with a bang with Reading Week, even if we didn't get a math assignment done every day. We read A LOT of books and had our art projects. That was how most of the month went - reading. Reading reading reading. Sunny has been really putting up a fight with her language book because she doesn't like the copy work, so I've been filling in with some silly grammar books. They're funny but they still teach the concepts of the word parts - noun, pronoun, adjective, etc. I also found the Schoolhouse Rock grammar songs on YouTube.
Sunny started piano lessons on the first. I was going to wait another year before getting her into official lessons but the friend who taught their preschool music class last fall said that she did really well and was capable of starting. We'll see how this goes. She has no concept of practicing something every day - we need to work on that.
We've also had some sick kiddos this week. The sum total of today's activities has been - 1. sit on the couch and hold Birdie, who is currently running a fever; 2. finish making a skirt for Posy while Birdie and Magnolia were both taking a long nap; 3. watch a documentary biography about Dr. Seuss. That's it. Not a bad day, when you think about it that way.
