I'm really glad March is over. This was not a good month. We finished our first 9 weeks on the 2nd, and didn't have any school time clear until the 26th. The pollen has been doing its darnedest to kill us - all the girls have been coughing and running fevers nonstop for weeks. Sunny boosted it with waking up multiple times during multiple nights, literally screaming from headaches. Just last week, I was up with her literally every 15 minutes from midnight until 3 am. Of course she (and her sisters) won't take allergy meds because they taste yucky. We finally resorted to Benadryl so we could get some sleep. AC has been okay but I lost my voice a week ago and still have a sore throat with lots of coughing.
Our trip to Texas was the bright spot of the month, but even there we had the allergies issues. So the trip was not the rejuvenating break and reset button on life that I was hoping for. We got back and it was even worse.
Fortunately, the rain this week has knocked down the pollen enough that we can breathe easily again, and go outside for more than 5 minutes without our heads wanting to explode. So we're slowly getting back into schoolwork. This week, Sunny just did math, language, piano practice, and a lot of free reading. We also started working on our garden - another round of a science project! This year, AC got a number of different varieties of tomatoes to try them out. I'm curious to see how Sunny reacts to different colors of tomatoes. She loves tomatoes and eats them as often as she can, but they're always red no matter what size. What about yellow or purple tomatoes?!?! We shall see!
