We had some rain earlier in the week which got all the yucky pollen and humidity out of the air, and the end of the week has been amazingly beautiful! So we had school time outside on Thursday and Friday.
On Thursday, we took a couple of blankets and a bunch of books out back, and sat under a tree reading and Sunny did her math assignment. Then the girls all played literally for hours while I just sat there with the baby. When AC got home from work, he took the girls to a field to fly their kite. I had to go to a church meeting so I missed it, but they didn't come in until it was almost dark. Hooray for an afternoon ALL outside!
Yesterday, we went out for a couple of hours again. It was our 50th day of school (finally), so the girls ran around gathering 50 dandelions, 50 leaves, 50 little clover flowers, and we probably had 50 or more blades of grass but we didn't count them. We sorted them into piles so we could practice counting by 5s and 10s. We had some things due at the library so we also went over there and had free reading time for an hour or so.
I like this kind of school. There's no point in being indoors when it's this nice outside.
