We're having a little bit of a scramble here to get back to work. Last Monday, AC got a phone call from his sister that their mom's terminal cancer was at the end, so we packed up and went 5 1/2 hours away to be with his family. We spent the entire week cleaning out her house and getting ready for the funeral services on Saturday, and came home Sunday night. No schoolwork for the girls at all - the adults had other things going on. They played with cousins and watched PBS Kids on TV and ... that's about it.
While I'm now paying for it this week, with trying to rebuild momentum with the girls to work every day and just to get my brain put back together ... this is one of the benefits of homeschool. We could just drop everything and leave for a week, and not even think about homework or school assignments or anything but what was right in front of us.
