last time

While the movers were loading up our big truck to drive away with our stuff and begin our big move to New England, we took one last trip to the Vicksburg Military Park, the battlefield from the Civil War. Aunt C was with us to help us drive north, so we showed her around one last time.

The Illinois monument will always and forever make me laugh because of the sheer size of it.

Magnolia and Posy with Aunt C at the Cairo museum - the Cairo was a Union gunboat sunk in the Mississippi River at some point during the Vicksburg battle and siege, and was later raised and put on display.

Another of the state monuments - Sunny took this picture.

Photography practice for Posy - this is an administration building on the site of the surrender of General Pemberton to General Grant.
