And we're off and going with our homeschool year. In our first term of 10 weeks plus 2 weeks of vacation, I'm counting 48 days of official school time. We had 36 days in the 10 weeks (we lost some major time during July), but made it up on vacation because we could count 12 days worth of field trips. Yay for travel!
We went to the zoo and children's museum in St. Louis. Loved both - I would be just fine with living in St. Louis because there was a lot for kids to do. We went to a number of historic sites from LDS Church history in Illinois and Missouri. We came home with more than 10 new books because our break stop on long travel days is to hang out in whatever bookstore we can find for an hour or two. This time, it was Books-A-Million.
I'll be posting notes and pictures from our vacation field trips over the next week or 2. I have over 300 pictures to sort and edit, and even more to round up from my sisters who were with us.
