I'm a visual learner - I have to see something to fully understand it. So it never really occurred to me to seek out audio books until last week, I was wandering around the library and came across the audio book collection. On a whim, I started skimming through the titles and I thought that maybe we could get a lot more "reading" in by trying out audio books, particularly classic literature.
I grabbed Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne, since January is Milne's birthday month. For the first few minutes in the car, the younger girls wanted the book turned off and music back on. By the time we got home from the library (about a 15-minute drive across town), we had to stay in our seats in the garage until we got to the end of the chapter. This could be a winner.

We have never really used audio books either, but I think they are great for the car, especially on road trips.
