week 10 review

(week 10: July 18-22, 2011)

It was our last week of the "term" before vacation and it wasn't perfect by any means, but darn it all, we kept plowing through it. That's the important thing at this point - keep going. 3 days for our count up to 180.

We had 3 days of work on handwriting and math. The handwriting game of the week was that I set up the art easel and drew 10 letters/numbers out of a bowl that they had to write on the board.

We read a lot and spent some time at the library. I worked almost every day with Posy on her phonics - she's catching on well with sounding things out. The challenge here is to stop Sunny from reading over her shoulder and telling her the word before she has time to figure it out.

And we had some history this week. We watched a movie about Joseph Smith and AC helped the girls write a short timeline of the LDS Church's history from the time of Joseph Smith's First Vision to when the Church members arrived in the Salt Lake Valley. All preparation for going to some of these sites next week on our vacation.
